Shades 4 AIDS is a great opportunity for schools to involve their students in a rewarding program to increase the awareness of their community to the plight of children with HIV/AIDS and to engage in a fundraising campaign that will significantly reduce the incidence of childhood HIV.
Schools can engage at various levels. They can just focus on Shades 4 AIDS Day and raise funds on that day by encouraging the students and staff to contribute a golden coin in exchange for wearing sunglasses for the day, even in class. Or, the school can promote the campaign beyond the day to parents and the greater school community. See fundraising ideas.
You can view a summary of Shades 4 AIDS on our PDF brochure, which you can download and distribute to your school, colleagues, teachers, students and friends. You can also download the HIV Pack at anything which will help your school take the first steps.
But first you should search to check whether your school has already been registered and by whom. If not then you should register when you have the support of your school to run the Shades 4 AIDS Day.
When you register your school, we will need to get the registration confirmed by contacting the principal or deputy principal. Once we have confirmation of the registration, we will send out the posters.
At anytime you can download a A4 version of the posters which you can print distribute or put up on your noticeboard. The donation boxes can be ordered from us online.
